This collection of unpublished texts, much like Leopardi&#8217;s Zibaldone &#8211; i.e., a set of texts written at different times &#8211; contains his most intimate thoughts. It touches on his childhood in Turin and his artistic career in the many cities of Europe and the world; his unconditional dedication to music as one of the highest forms of cultural expression, but also among the most accessible and potentially democratic thanks to its strong emotional component; his respect for music and its protagonists &#8211; including the audience &#8211; as an indispensable element of civil society.<br>And it closes with the difficult times experienced owing to his disease and the pandemic &#8211; his \u201ccrazy and desperate\u201d reflections.
